Components overview

Reusable foundation line items — concrete, excavation, formwork, reinforcing, piers, waterproofing — set once and pulled into any quote.

Components overview

Components are the building blocks of every foundation quote. Each one bundles a measurement method, material price, labor price, and waste so you can drop it into a quote and let QuoteCore+ work out the quantities.

What can be a component?

Anything you price more than once on a job:

  • Concrete pours — slab, footings, beams, pads (volume)
  • Excavation and muck-away (volume or hours)
  • Strip footings, ground beams, perimeter footings (lineal)
  • Multiple footings or curved footings (multi-lineal or curved)
  • Formwork — shutters, edge boards (lineal or area)
  • Reinforcing steel — rebar, mesh, starter bars (lineal or area)
  • Piers, pads, and pile caps (count)
  • Waterproofing, DPM, gas membrane (area)
  • Fixed-price items like site setup, surveying, building control inspection
  • Hourly or day-rate labor and plant hire

Why components matter

Set them up once with the right pricing and waste, then every quote that uses them inherits those numbers. Change the price in one place and your next quote picks it up automatically. No more digging through old spreadsheets to remember what you charged last time.

Extras vs Main components

Main components are the work you're quoting — concrete, excavation, footings, reinforcing. They're tied to an area and counted toward the job's measured total.

Extras are line items you want priced and shown but kept separate — site setup, surveys, inspection fees, skip hire, parking. They appear in the quote total but not in the measured area breakdown.
