Construction measurement types

Area. A flat surface measured in m² - cladding, sheeting, roofing, decking, lining, slabs.

Irregular Area. An area that isn't a simple rectangle - L-shapes, multi-section roofs or walls, raked walls.

Lineal. A single continuous run measured in metres - framing, fascia, gutter, trim, formwork, beams.

Multiple Lines (multi_lineal). Several lineal runs of the same material added together as one component line.

Wall Length × Height (multi_lineal_lxh). Several wall runs measured plan-view as lengths with a shared height. Quick way to quote whole-wall framing or cladding.

Wall Height × Length (length_x_height). A single wall measured length × height. Used for one-off walls.

Volume. A measurement in m³ - concrete pours, bulk fill, footings.

Curved Line (curved_line). A curved run measured along its curve - radius framing, decorative trim, curved fascia.

Count. Individual items - windows, doors, fixtures, hardware items, beams, columns.

Fixed. A flat amount that doesn't scale with measurement - subcontract allowances, PC sums, site costs, plant hire.

Hours / Days. Labor billed by time rather than by quantity installed.

QuoteCore+ terms

Actual measurement. The real-world measurement after waste (and per-component pitch, if used) has been applied to the plan measurement.

Component. A reusable construction item with its own price, pack size, labor rate, and waste settings.

Customer quote. The polished, customer-facing version of the quote. For construction work the default label is Construction Works.

Digital takeoff. Tracing measurements directly on an uploaded plan, elevation, or site drawing.

Extra. A non-core component bucket for subcontract allowances, PC sums, hidden items, or anything outside the main scope.

Manual quote. A quote built by typing measurements straight into the quote builder, without a digital takeoff.

Pitch multiplier. A factor that converts plan-view length or area into actual sloped length or area. Available per-component (not at trade level) for construction - turn it on for roof framing or sheeting measured from a plan view.

Plan measurement. The raw measurement taken from the plan, before waste or pitch is applied.

Quote builder. The screen where you assemble areas, components, prices, and notes into the final quote.

Takeoff. The list of measurements that drives the quote - whether digital or manual.

Billing terms

Cap. A numeric limit on something your plan allows - quotes per month, components total, storage bytes, etc. Hitting a cap blocks new additions but never deletes existing data. See Tier limits.

Dunning. The process Stripe (and we) follow when a renewal payment fails: automatic card retries, status escalation through past_due - grace - suspended, with chances to recover by updating the card. See Billing.

Effective plan. What your account can actually use today. Usually the same as your purchased plan, but collapses to Starter during grace periods or after the trial ends.

Grace period. A 10-day window after a payment failure where you keep read access but can't create new quotes. See Billing.

Trial. A 14-day free taste of every feature, with tiny caps. One per account, ever. See Free trial.
