Tier limits
What each cap on your plan means, how counters work, and what happens when you hit one.
Tier limits
Every plan has caps. This page explains what each one means in practice.
The five caps
| Cap | What it counts | Reset cycle |
|---|---|---|
| Quotes / month | Every quote you create (draft or sent) | 1st of each month, UTC |
| Components (lifetime) | Active components in your library | Never - manual delete only |
| Flashings (lifetime) | Flashing designs in your library | Never - manual delete only |
| Material orders / month | Outgoing orders sent to suppliers | 1st of each month, UTC |
| Storage | Total bytes uploaded across the company | Never - manual delete only |
Per-tier breakdown
| Cap | Trial | Starter | Growth | Pro | Pro Plus |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Quotes / month | 10 | 25 | 50 | 100 | 200 |
| Components | 10 | 10 | 15 | 25 | 50 |
| Flashings | 5 | 0 (locked) | 0 (locked) | 10 | 20 |
| Material orders / month | 5 | 0 (locked) | 0 (locked) | 10 | 20 |
| Storage | 100 MB | 200 MB | 2 GB | 3 GB | 5 GB |
| Included seats | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 3 |
"Locked" means the feature itself is not available on that tier - not zero, but no access at all (the navigation hides the page).
Quotes per month
The most important cap. Both draft quotes and finalised quotes count toward this limit. A new quote consumes one slot when it's created.
When you hit the monthly cap:
- The + New Quote button on the quotes list page greys out.
- Clicking it opens an upgrade modal: "Monthly quote limit reached (X/Y). To create more quotes this month you need to upgrade your account tier, or wait until your quote limit resets."
- The cap resets at midnight UTC on the 1st of next month.
Components (lifetime)
Components are the building blocks of every quote (ridge cap, valley flashing, fascia, etc.). The lifetime cap counts every active component in your library.
- Soft-deleted components (set inactive) do not count. Hard-deleting is the only way to make room if you've toggled instead of deleted.
- New accounts are seeded with 8 starter components, so you start at 8 of your limit.
- When at the cap, the + Add Component button on the components page opens an upgrade modal.
Flashings (lifetime)
Same model as components, but for the flashings library. Flashings are images + drawings of cut metal pieces that go onto material orders.
- Every drawing or uploaded image counts as 1.
- Editing an existing flashing does not consume a new slot.
- When at the cap, both Create and Upload buttons on the flashings page open an upgrade modal.
On Starter and Growth, flashings is a locked feature - the whole page shows an upgrade splash and the "Flashings" entry button on the components page opens an upgrade modal instead of navigating.
Material orders per month
Outgoing purchase orders sent to suppliers. Resets monthly like quotes.
On Starter and Growth, material orders is a locked feature - the nav entry opens an upgrade modal and doesn't route through.
Storage
Total bytes uploaded to your company storage. Counts:
- Roof plan PDFs and images uploaded for digital takeoff
- Photos attached to quotes
- Company logo
- Flashing reference images
Does not count:
- Generated PDFs (created on the fly when you click download)
- Customer-facing accept page renders
When you're near the limit:
- A storage usage bar on the billing page shows your usage.
- At 90% it turns amber.
- At 100% the next upload fails with a "Storage quota exceeded" error.
To free up space, delete old quote attachments or roof plans you no longer need.
How the upgrade modal works
Every cap opens the same modal pattern:
- Title naming the specific cap you hit
- Description explaining what's blocked
- Not now button to dismiss
- View plans button that takes you to Account > Billing with the recommended plan highlighted
What about grandfathered data?
If you signed up on a higher tier then downgraded, you may end up with more existing data than your new tier allows. That's fine:
- We never delete data when you downgrade.
- Caps only block new additions.
- Example: a customer with 30 components who downgrades from Pro (25-component cap) to Growth (15-component cap) keeps all 30 components. They just can't add a new one until they delete enough to get back under 15.
